Understanding Video Compression: How Video Compression Impacts Your AV Systems (Part 4 of 4)

In our last video we learned that there is a clear distinction between lossless and lossy compression. Lossless compression does not alter or lose data during compression and decompression, but the overall process takes a longer time. Lossy compression is more commonly used than lossless compression. It removes information from the video that a person does not perceive to increase the compression rate. But, how do you know which compression type is right for your AV application?

Join Product Engineer Garrett Swindell in part 4 of 4 of our Understanding Video Compression Series to discover:

  • Common applications of AV and how they are impacted by video compression
  • Why you must choose a high-performance AV-over-IP systems with lossless compression when working with real-time applications
  • Three steps for determining which of the compression schemes or AV systems is right for you
